Deletion level and value analysis of MLH1 and PMS2 in gastric cancer tissues
Objective To investigate deletion and expression levels of mismatch repair(MMR)proteins MLH1 and PMS2 in gastric cancer patients, and analyze correlation between high deletion and clinical features of patients. Methods A total of 275 patients with gastric cancer treated in Qinghai Provincial People's Hospital from May 2014 to March 2022 were selected as research subjects.Expression data of MMR protein were collected retrospectively, and statistical analysis was made based on clinical characteristics. Results In 275 cases, deletion rate of MLH1 was 8.36%(23/275),deletion rate of PMS2 was 18.18%(50/275),and deletion rate of both MLH1 and PMS2 was 7.27%(20/275).There was significant difference in deletion rate of MLH1 and PMS2(P<0.05).There was significant difference in deletion rate of PMS2 and both MLH1 and PMS2(P<0.05).Deletion of MLH1 was associated with age, differentiation degree,Ki67 index, nerve invasion and Her-2 status of gastric cancer patients(P<0.05).Deletion of PMS2 was associated with age, tumor location and Ki67 index of patients with gastric cancer(P<0.05).Simultaneous deletion of MLH1 and PMS2 was associated with age, tumor location, tumor diameter, differentiation degree, neural invasion,Ki67 index and Her-2 status of gastric cancer patients(P<0.05).Expression of MLH1 and PMS2 in gastric cancer was positively correlated(r=0.539,P<0.001).Conclusion Deletion of MLH1 is associated with more clinical pathological characteristics in patients with gastric cancer, and expression of MLH1 and PMS2 is positively correlated in gastric cancer.
