Analysis of prevalence and influencing factors of type 2 diabetes mellitus in patients with thyroid nodules
Objective To analyze prevalence and influencing factors of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)in patients with thyroid nodules. Methods Clinical data of 332 adult patients with thyroid nodules underwent ultrasound examination at Community Health Service Center of Lushan Street in Fuyang District,Hangzhou City from January 2018 to August 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.According to presence or absence of T2DM,they were divided into T2DM group(80 cases)and non-T2DM group(252 cases).Influencing factors of T2DM in patients with thyroid nodules were analyzed by using multivariate Logistic regression. Results There were significant differences in age,25-hydroxyvitamin D,free triiodothyronine,low-density lipoprotein,high-density lipoprotein, triglyceride, hypertension and bronchial asthma between two groups(P<0.05).Age(OR=1.047,95%CI:1.012-1.062),free triiodothyronine(OR=1.665,95%CI:0.412-1.980),low-density lipoprotein(OR=1.743,95%CI:0.456-1.907),high-density lipoprotein(OR=1.664,95%CI:0.465-1.919)and hypertension(OR=1.384,95%CI:0.203-1.689)were influence factors for diagnosis of T2DM in adult patients with thyroid nodules(P<0.05).Conclusion Prevalence of T2DM was higher in patients with thyroid nodules.Age,free triiodothyronine, low density lipoprotein, high density lipoprotein and hypertension were associated with T2DM and thyroid nodules.
