Effect of Phaco drill and Small Incision Non-phacoemulsification Cataract Extraction in the Treatment of Patients with Hard Nuclear Cataract
Objective:To investigate the effect of Phaco drill and small incision non-phacoemulsification cataract extraction in the treatment of patients with hard nuclear cataract.Method:A total of 60 patients with hard nuclear cataract treated in Macheng City Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from October 2020 to April 2022 were retrospectively selected. They were divided into Phaco group(n=25)and small incision group(n=35)according to different surgical treatment methods. The small incision group was given small incision non-phacoemulsification cataract extraction, and the Phaco group was given Phaco drill. The ocular recovery condition before surgery and 1 month after surgery, corneal astigmatism before surgery and 3 d,1 month and 3 months after surgery, and complications were compared between the two groups.Result:At 1 month after surgery, the best corrected visual acuity(BCVA),intraocular pressure(IOP),corneal endothelial cell(CEC)density in Phaco group were higher than those of the small incision group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05),but there was no statistical significance in central corneal thickness(CCT)between the two groups(P>0.05).Repeated measures analysis of variance showed that corneal astigmatism had statistical significance among groups, time, and interaction(P<0.001).At 3 d and 1 month after surgery, the corneal astigmatism in the Phaco group were lower than those in the small incision group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of postoperative complications in the Phaco group was lower than that in the small incision group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Phaco drill in the treatment of hard nuclear cataract can promote patient recovery, have less short-term impact on corneal astigmatism, less damage to the corneal endothelium, and have a low incidence of postoperative complications.
