Research Progress of Ferroptosis in Ischemia-reperfusion Acute Renal Injury
Ischemia-reperfusion(I/R)is a common cause of acute kidney injury(AKI),and is commonly seen in kidney transplantation, shock, trauma, urology and cardiovascular surgery, for which there is no effective treatment.Ferroptosis is a newly discovered mode of regulatory cell death,it is characterized by a fatal accumulation of iron-dependent lipid peroxides.A large number of studies have shown that ferroptosis is involved in the occurrence and development of I/R AKI,and its pathophysiological mechanism and therapeutic targets have gradually become a focus of research. This article reviews the recent research progress on ferroptosis in I/R AKI,aiming to provide new ideas and strategies for the prevention and treatment of I/R AKI.
