Analysis on the Connotation of Zhang Zhongjing's Application of Glycyrrhiza under the Theory of Medicine Syndrome
Licorice,also known as"sweet grass""national elder",is known as"the king of traditional Chinese medicine".This paper mainly analyze the application,compatibility ideas and composition mechanism of licorice in the classical prescription,and finds that licorice is mainly"Fuzheng",followed by clearing heat and detoxification,reconciling various medicines,tonifying middle and relieving emergency,tonifying qi and invigorating Yang,and so on.After comparing Baihu Renshen Decoction with Xiao Chaihu Decoction in Treatise on Febrile Diseases and Synopsis of the Golden Chamber,it is found that Zhongjing uses raw licorice to clear away heat and purge fire,while grilled licorice tends to warm and tonify vital energy,strengthening the spleen and regulating the middle.The dosage of licorice is mainly in twos and threes,mainly to reconcile the medicinal properties and tonify the stomach,and to study the doubt of"grilled licorice"in the classics prescription.
