Application Value of Butylphthalide in Elderly Diabetic Patients with Cognitive Impairment
Objective:To investigate the application value of Butylphthalide in elderly diabetes mellitus complicated with cognitive impairment.Method:A total of 102 elderly patients with diabetes mellitus combined with cognitive impairment admitted to Jiangsu University Affiliated Yixing Hospital from June 2021 to March 2023 were selected as the study objects, and they were divided into two groups by random number table method, with 51 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Metformin, and the observation group was treated with Butylphthalide on the basis of the control group.Cognitive function, neural factors, platelet parameters and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Result:Before treatment, there were no significant differences in Montreal cognitive assessment(MoCA)scores, neural factors and platelet parameters between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment,MoCA score, neurotrophic factor(NTF)and nerve growth factor(NGF)in both groups were higher than those before treatment, mean platelet volume(MPV)and platelet volume distribution width(PDW)levels were lower than those before treatment, and MoCA score,NTF and NGF in observation group were higher than those in control group,MPV and PDW were lower than those in control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was 7.84%,which was higher than 5.88%of the control group, but there was no statistical significance between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Butylphthalide combined with Metformin can effectively improve the cognitive function of elderly patients with diabetes mellitus complicated with cognitive impairment, increase the level of neurofactors and reduce the platelet parameters of patients.
