Diagnostic Value of Serum MMP-2 and OPN for Vascular Calcification in Hemodialysis Patients with End-stage Renal Disease
Objective:To investigate the diagnostic value of serum matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2)and osteopontin(OPN)in vascular calcification in patients with end-stage renal disease on hemodialysis.Method:A total of 135 patients with end-stage renal disease admitted to the Nephrology Department of Shijingshan Teaching Hospital,Capital Medical University from June 2021 to December 2022 were selected as the study objects.Imaging methods were used to evaluate the vascular calcification of the patients, and the patients were divided into calcified group(59 cases)and non-calcified group(76 cases).Baseline data and laboratory indicators of the calcified group and the non-calcified group were compared. The risk factors of vascular calcification in patients with end-stage renal disease on hemodialysis were analyzed, and the value of MMP-2 and OPN in diagnosing vascular calcification in patients with end-stage renal disease on hemodialysis were analyzed.Result:Vascular calcification occurred in 59(43.70%)of 135 patients with end-stage renal disease on hemodialysis. There were significant differences in serum creatinine, serum calcium, serum phosphorus, serum MMP-2 and OPN between the two groups(P<0.05).logistic regression analysis showed that high levels of serum creatinine, serum calcium, serum phosphorus,MMP-2 and OPN were risk factors for vascular calcification in patients with end-stage renal disease on hemodialysis(OR>1,P<0.05).Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was drawn, and the results showed that the area under cruve(AUC)of serum MMP-2 and OPN in the diagnosis of vascular calcification in patients with end-stage renal disease was>0.7,which had certain diagnostic value, and the combined detection had the highest diagnostic value. Conclusion:Serum MMP-2 and OPN are highly expressed in hemodialysis patients with end-stage renal disease, and they have good application value in diagnosing vascular calcification.
