Changes and Clinical Significance of Serum HE-4 and PCT Levels in Patients with Chronic Heart Failure
Objective:To analyze the changes in serum levels of human epididymal protein-4(HE-4)and procalcitonin(PCT)in patients with chronic heart failure(CHF),and to explore their clinical significance.Method:A total of 100 CHF patients who admitted to Beijing Huairou Hospital from January 2021 to December 2022 were selected as the case group, and another 100 healthy individuals who underwent physical examination during the same period were selected as the control group. The serum HE-4 and PCT levels of the case group and the control group, patients with different functional grading in the case group were compared, and univariate analysis and logistic regression analysis were performed.Result:The serum HE-4 and PCT levels in the case group were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);with the cardiac function grading increases, the levels of serum HE-4 and PCT were gradually increased, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);the high-risk group of cardiac dysfunction was older than that in the low-risk group of cardiac dysfunction, with higher levels of HE-4,PCT,N-terminal B-type natriuretic peptide precursor(NT-proBNP),and lower left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);the results of logistic regression analysis showed that HE-4,PCT,and NT-proBNP were independent risk factors for cardiac function in CHF patients(P<0.05).Conclusion:The main factors affecting cardiac function in CHF patients include HE-4,PCT and NT-proBNP,and with the cardiac function grading increases, the levels of HE-4 and PCT increase, which can be used as important indicators to evaluate the severity of the condition.
