Effects of Comprehensive Nursing Based on KAP Theory on Self-perceived Burden and Treatment Compliance in Patients with Myasthenia Gravis
Objective:To explore the effect of comprehensive nursing based on knowledge-attitude-practice(KAP)theory on self-perceived burden and compliance behavior of patients with myasthenia gravis.Method:A total of 150 patients with myasthenia gravis diagnosed in the Affiliated Hospital of Xuzhou Medical University from January 2018 to November 2022 were selected. They were divided into observation group and control group in the order of admission, with 75 cases in each group. The control group received traditional myasthenia gravis nursing, while the observation group received comprehensive nursing based on KAP theory, and continued intervention for 3 months.KAP score,self-perceived burden score, total compliance rate and extensor muscle strength were compared between the two groups.Result:Before intervention, there were no significant differences in KAP score,self-perceived burden score, compliance behavior score, total compliance rate and extensor muscle strength between the two groups(P>0.05).After intervention, the scores of knowledge dimension, belief dimension and behavior dimension in both groups were significantly higher than those before intervention, and those in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention, the scores of self-perceived burden in both groups were lower than those before intervention, and the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The scores of medication prescribed by the doctor, dietary intervention, exercise maintenance and regular review in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total compliance rate of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention, the peak torque(PT),explosive force(TAE),endurance ratio(ER)and peak torque to body weight(PT/BW)in both groups were higher than those before intervention, and the observation group were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Comprehensive nursing based on the KAP theory can effectively reduce the self-perceived burden of patients with myasthenia gravis, enhance medical adherence, and improve the strength of extensor muscles.
