Correlation of Serum Vitamin D and DHEA-S with Th1/Th2 Cytokines and Immunoglobulin in Children with CSU
Objective:To investigate the association of serum vitamin D,dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate(DHEA-S),Th1/Th2 cytokines, and immunoglobulins in children with chronic spontaneous urticaria(CSU).Method:Seventy-three children with CSU admitted to Shenzhen Pingshan District Maternal and Child Health Hospital from March 2022 to May 2023 were selected as the study group, and 70 children with healthy physical examination results during the same period were selected as the control group. The levels of vitamin D,DHEA-S,Th1/Th2 cytokines and immunoglobulin in the two groups were detected. The levels of vitamin D,DHEA-S,Th1/Th2 cytokines and immunoglobulin between the two groups and in mild, moderate and severe CSU children were compared. The correlation between vitamin D,DHEA-S and Th1/Th2 cytokines and immunoglobulin in CSU children was analyzed.Result:Vitamin D,DHEA-S,interleukin-2(IL-2),interferon-γ(IFN-γ)levels in the study group were lower than those in the control group, and interleukin-4(IL-4),immunoglobulin E(IgE)and immunoglobulin G(IgG)were higher than those of control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The levels of DHEA-S and IFN-γ in moderate and severe children were lower than those in mild children, the levels of IgE and IgG were higher than those in mild children, the levels of DHEA-S and IFN-γ in severe children were lower in moderate children, and the levels of IgE and IgG were higher than those in moderate children, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Vitamin D and DHEA-S were positively correlated with IL-2 and IFN-γ,and negatively correlated with IL-4(P<0.05).DHEA-S was negatively correlated with IgE(P<0.05).Conclusion:The decrease of serum vitamin D in children with CSU was associated with the imbalance of Th1/Th2 cytokines, and DHEA-S decreased as the disease worsened.
