The Application Effect of Otago Exercise in Elderly Patients with Acute Stroke
Objective:To explore the application effect of Otago exercise in elderly patients with acute stroke.Method:A total of 83 elderly patients with acute stroke admitted to the Emergency Department of Guangzhou First People's Hospital from June 2022 to June 2023 were retrospectively selected as the study objects.According to different nursing methods, they were divided into control group(41 cases)and observation group(42 cases).Control group was given routine nursing, observation group was given Otago exercise on the basis of control group. The cognitive function, motor function and balance ability before and after intervention, and the compliance and satisfaction after intervention of the two groups were compared.Result:After intervention, the scores of orientation, memory, language, recall and attention and calculation were increased in both groups, and the scores of orientation, memory, language, recall and attention and calculation in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention, the scores of upper limb simple Fugl-Meyer motor function scale(FMA),lower limb FMA,Holden walking function rating scale(FAC)and Berg balance scale(BBS)were all increased in both groups, and the scores of upper limb FMA,lower limb FMA,FAC and BBS in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The compliance rates of follow medical treatment, regular check ups,and life management and satisfaction of intervention method, service attitude and symptom improvement of observation group were higher than those of control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Otago exercise is used in elderly patients with acute stroke, which helps to improve cognitive function, motor function and balance ability, and can obtain high compliance and satisfaction.
