Study on Effect of Levonorgestrel Intrauterine System Placement on Endometrial Thickness,Sex Hormones and Inflammatory Factors Levels in Patients Undergoing Hysteroscopic Polypectomy
Objective:To explore the effect of Levonorgestrel intrauterine system placement on endometrial thickness, sex hormones and inflammatory factors levels in patients undergoing hysteroscopic polypectomy.Method:A total of 160 patients who underwent hysteroscopic polypectomy in Jiuquan City People's Hospital from January 2020 to December 2022 were selected as the study subjects, they were divided into the experimental group(n=80)and the control group(n=80)according to the envelope random method. The control group was treated with Progesterone Capsules, while the experimental group was treated with Levonorgestrel intrauterine system placement. The menstrual volume, endometrial thickness, sex hormone indexes and inflammatory factors were compared between two groups.Result:The menstrual volume and endometrial thickness of two groups after operation decreased, and the menstrual volume of the experimental group at 4 months and 8 months after operation were less than those of the control group, and the endometrial thickness were lower than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).At 8 months after operation, the levels of sex hormone indexes and inflammatory factors in two groups decreased, and the levels of progesterone, luteinizing hormone,estradiol,interferon-γ(IFN-γ),interleukin(IL)-1 and matrix metalloproteinase-3(MMP-3)in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Levonorgestrel intrauterine system placement has a significant effect after hysteroscopic polypectomy, which helps to reduce the amount of menstrual bleeding, reduce the level of inflammatory factors, improve the sex hormone index, and promote the reduction of endometrial thickness.
