Research Progress on Role of Mast Cells in the Mechanism of Visceral Hypersensitivity Pain
Visceral hypersensitivity state is a common manifestation of irritable bowel syndrome(IBS),functional anorectal pain, chronic pelvic pain and other diseases, and pain is one of the common symptoms of such diseases. At present, the mechanism of visceral hypersensitivity pain is not clear, and there is no clear and effective treatment method.Currently, research has found that mast cells play an important role in the occurrence and maintenance of visceral hypersensitivity pain.Mast cells may lead to visceral hypersensitivity pain by increasing visceral sensitivity and affecting the neuroendocrine immune network. Therefore, regulating the function of mast cells may become one of the new ways to treat visceral hypersensitivity pain. This article summarized the possible role of mast cells in the mechanism of visceral hypersensitivity pain and provided a prospect for the treatment of visceral hypersensitivity pain based on the above mechanisms.
