Effect of Microecological Modulators on Peripheral Blood Indexes in Elderly Patients with COPD
Objective:To investigate the effect of microecological modulators on peripheral blood eosinophil count,C-reactive protein and interleukin-6 in elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Method:A total of 60 elderly patients with COPD who admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University from October 2021 to October 2022 were selected as the research objects, the patients were divided into the control group and the observation group by random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with conventional treatment, and the observation group was treated with Bifidobacterium Quadruple Live Bacteria Tablets on the basis of the control group. The peripheral blood eosinophil count,C-reactive protein,interleukin-6 levels, clinical symptoms, quality of life and complications were compared between two groups.Result:The levels of eosinophil count,C-reactive protein and interleukin-6 in the observation group after 1 week of treatment and 1 month of treatment were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the incidence of cough, sputum, dyspnea, chest tightness, wheezing and shortness of breath in observation group were lower than those in control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Before treatment, there was no significant difference in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease self-assessment test(CAT)scores between the two groups(P>0.05);after 1 week of treatment,CAT scores in both groups were lower than before treatment, and the observation group was lower than the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of pulmonary infection, emphysema, pulmonary heart disease and anemia in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Microecological modulators can reduce the inflammatory response of elderly patients with COPD,improve clinical symptoms, improve quality of life, and reduce the incidence of complications.
