Objective:To explore the effect of nursing based on empowerment theory on self-management ability and complications in patients with retaining double J tube after surgery for urinary stones.Method:A total of 200 patients with retaining double J tube after surgery for urinary stones were selected from Yichang Central People's Hospital from January 2021 to December 2022.They were randomly divided into control group and experimental group,100 cases in each group. The control group was given routine nursing, and the experimental group was given nursing based on empowerment theory.Self-management ability before and after nursing and complications were compared between the two groups.Result:After nursing, the self-management behavior,self-management cognition,self-management environment score and total score of the two groups were increased, and the self-management behavior,self-management cognition,self-management environment score and total score of the experiment group were higher than those of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The complication rates of urinary tract infection, hematuria and bladder irritation in experiment group were significantly lower than those in control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The nursing based on empowerment theory for patients with retaining double J tube after surgery for urinary stones can improve patients'self-management ability and help reduce the occurrence of complications.
