Effect of Paclitaxel Drug Coated Balloon Dilation Angioplasty in the Treatment of Lower Extremity ASO and Its Impact on Postoperative Restenosis
Objective:To investigate the effect of Paclitaxel drug coated balloon(DCB)dilation angioplasty in the treatment of lower extremity arteriosclerotic occlusion(ASO)and its impact on postoperative restenosis.Method:The clinical data of 60 patients with lower extremity ASO who admitted to Mindong Hospital Affiliated to Fujian Medical University from January 2020 to January 2023 were retrospectively analyzed, they were divided into the control group(ordinary balloon dilatation angioplasty,n=28)and the observation group(Paclitaxel DCB dilatation angioplasty,n=32)according to the patients'willingness to treat. The changes of Rutherford classification, arteriosclerosis indexes and hemodynamic indexes of dorsalis pedis artery were compared between two groups before and after operation and 6 months of follow-up,the phase Ⅰ patency rate, restenosis rate and complication rate were compared between two groups within 6 months of follow-up.Result:The Rutherford classification, arteriosclerosis indexes and hemodynamic indexes of dorsalis pedis artery in the observation group were significantly improved after operation and 6 months of follow-up compared with those before operation, the arteriosclerosis indexes and hemodynamic indexes of dorsalis pedis artery in the control group were significantly improved after operation and 6 months of follow-up compared with those before operation, the Rutherford classification after operation was significantly improved compared with that before operation, the above indexes in the observation group after 6 months of follow-up were better than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).During the 6-month follow-up,there was no significant difference in the phase Ⅰ patency rate between two groups(P>0.05);the restenosis rate and total incidence of complications in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The short-term effect of Paclitaxel DCB dilation angioplasty is comparable to that of ordinary balloon dilation angioplasty in the treatment of lower extremity ASO,but Paclitaxel DCB dilation angioplasty can effectively improve postoperative hemodynamics and prevent arteriosclerosis, which is more conducive to reducing the rate of vascular restenosis and complications.
