Clinical Efficacy and Safety Comparison of Endoscopic Thyroidectomy Through Oral Vestibule and Areola Approach for the Treatment of Thyroid Nodules in Patients
Objective:To compare the efficacy and safety of oral vestibule approach and areola approach in endoscopic thyroidectomy for patients with thyroid nodules.Method:A total of 60 patients with thyroid nodules treated in the Youyang County People's Hospital of Chongqing from January to December 2022 were selected as the study objects. The patients were divided into control group and observation group by odd-even number method, with 30 patients in each group. The observation group was treated with endoscopic thyroidectomy via oral vestibule approach, while the control group was treated with endoscopic thyroidectomy via areola approach. The score of voice disorder, swallowing dysfunction before and after operation, postoperative pain and complication rate were compared between the two groups.Result:After operation, the score of voice handicap index(VHI)and swallowing impairment scale(SIS)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The visual analogue scale(VAS)score of the observation group was(1.06±0.14)points,which was lower than(3.02±0.25)points of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(t=9.148,P<0.05).The total incidence of postoperative complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Compared with endoscopic thyroidectomy via areola approach, endoscopic thyroidectomy via oral vestibule approach is more effective and safer in the treatment of thyroid nodules.
