Effect of Electrical Stimulation Combined with PNF Technology on Stroke Patients with Hemiplegia
Objective:To observe the effect of electrical stimulation combined with proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation(PNF)technology on stroke patients with hemiplegia.Method:A total of 84 patients with stroke hemiplegia admitted to Nanjing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from August 2021 to March 2023 were selected as the study objects.According to the method of random number table, they were divided into two groups, with 42 cases in each group. The control group received conventional rehabilitation methods, and the observation group received electrical stimulation combined with PNF technology intervention on the basis of the control group. Both groups were continuously interfered for 12 weeks. The upper limb function, muscle strength, nerve function and daily living ability of the two groups were compared before and after intervention.Result:After intervention, the Fugl-Meyer exercise scale(FMA)-upper limb function scores of the two groups were higher than that before intervention, the modified Ashworth scale(MAS)-upper limb muscle strength scores of the two groups were lower than that before intervention, and the FMA-upper limb function score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, the MAS-upper limb muscle strength score was lower than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention, the National Institutes of Health stroke scale(NIHSS)scores of the two groups were lower than those before intervention, and the observation group was lower than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention, the Barthel indexes(BI)of the two groups were higher than that before intervention, and the observation group was higher than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Electrical stimulation combined with PNF technology can promote the improvement of upper limb muscle strength in stroke patients, promote the recovery of damaged nerve function, and improve the upper limb function and self-care ability of daily life.
