Effect of Modified Simiao Decoction Combined with Dexamethasone in the Treatment of Patients with Gouty Arthritis
Objective:To explore the effect of modified Simiao Decoction combined with Dexamethasone in the treatment of patients with gouty arthritis.Method:A total of 86 patients with gouty arthritis admitted to Xiamen Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from June 2021 to June 2023 were retrospectively selected.They were divided into single group and combined group according to different treatment plans,with 43 cases in each group.Both groups were given basic treatment,the single group was given Dexamethasone,and the combined group was given modified Simiao Decoction on the basis of single group.The clinical efficacy,traditional Chinese medical syndrome score,pain degree,laboratory indexes,inflammatory factors,immune function before and after treatment and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Result:The total effective rate of combined group was 90.70%,which was higher than 74.42%of single group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the scores of main disease,secondary disease and visual analogue scale(VAS)in the two groups were lower than those before treatment,and the scores of main disease,secondary disease and VAS in the combined group were lower than those in the single group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of serum uric acid,erythrocyte sedimentation rate and C-reactive protein(CRP)in the two groups were lower than those before treatment,and the levels of serum uric acid,erythrocyte sedimentation rate and CRP in combined group were lower than those in single group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of interleukin-1β(IL-1β),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and procalcitonin(PCT)in the two groups were lower than those before treatment,and the levels of IL-1β,TNF-α and PCT in combined group were lower than those in single group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of immunoglobulin M(IgM),immunoglobulin A(IgA)and immunoglobulin E(IgE)in the two groups were lower than those before treatment,and the levels of IgM,IgA and IgE in combined group were lower than those in single group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Modified Simiao Decoction combined with Dexamethasone has a definite effect in the treatment of gouty arthritis,which can improve clinical symptoms,reduce pain degree,inhibit inflammatory response,correct immune function imbalance status,and has a certain safety.
