Effect of Minocycline Combined with Laser Therapy on Patients with Chronic Periodontitis
Objective:To explore the effect of Minocycline combined with laser therapy on patients with chronic periodontitis.Method:A total of 80 patients with chronic periodontitis treated in Beijing Jishuitan Hospital Guizhou Hospital from March 2021 to September 2023 were selected. They were divided into control group(40 cases,55 affected teeth)and observation group(40 cases,53 affected teeth)according to random number table method. The control group was given laser therapy, and the observation group was given Minocycline combined laser therapy. The clinical effect, periodontal health and inflammatory factors before and after treatment were compared between the two groups.Result:The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the gingival index(GI),plaque index(PLI)and periodontal pocket depth in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of interleukin-17(IL-17),interleukin-8(IL-8),interleukin-6(IL-6)and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The combination of Minocycline and laser therapy is beneficial for alleviating inflammation in patients with chronic periodontitis, reducing periodontal pocket depth and PLI,improving periodontal health, and achieving good clinical efficacy.
