Research Progress on Correlation between Early Life Antibiotic Exposure and Allergic Rhinitis
Nowadays, antibiotics are widely used all over the world.Due to factors such as non-standard application and management, related side effects, gradual expansion of application scope and antibiotic residue in the body, researchers have paid more and more attention to the impact of antibiotic exposure on human health, and the correlation with allergic diseases such as allergic rhinitis has become a focus.Infants,in particular, are particularly vulnerable to antibiotics in the early stages of life. The gut microbiome hypothesis has recently emerged as a link between antibiotic exposure and disease development.Probiotics are expected to regulate the immune response of patients with allergic rhinitis, establish a more balanced intestinal flora,so as to reduce patients'allergic symptoms and even prevent allergies, which is one of the popular adjuvant treatment strategies for allergic rhinitis. Therefore,to explore the correlation between antibiotic exposure in early life and allergic rhinitis, optimize antibiotic use and management, and conduct precise intervention in the critical period of the whole life cycle has important practical significance for the primary prevention of allergic rhinitis and improve the quality of life of patients. This article discusses the effect of antibiotic exposure in early life on allergic rhinitis in children and related problems.
