Effect of Sodium Valproate Combined with EEG biofeedback in the treatment of Bipolar Disorder
Objective:To explore the effect of Sodium Valproate combined with EEG biofeedback in the treatment of bipolar disorder(BPD).Method:A total of 80 BPD patients treated in the Beijing Haidian District Mental Rehabilitation Hospital from August 2021 to August 2023 were selected as the study objects, and they were divided into the control group(receiving Sodium Valproate treatment)and the study group(receiving Sodium Valproate combined with EEG biofeedback treatment)by random number table method, with 40 cases in each group.Clinical efficacy,Bech-Rafaelsen mania scale(BRMS)score, clinical global impressions scale-bipolar disorder(CGI-s-BP)score,positive and negative syndrome scale(PANSS)score, modified overt aggression scale(MOAS)score,Hamilton depression scale(HAMD)score, treatment emergent symptom scale(TESS)score, levels of inflammatory factors[interleukin-6(IL-6),interleukin-1β(IL-1β),macrophage migration inhibitor factor(MIF)],cytokines[homocysteine(Hcy),astroglia-derived protein(S100β),5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT)]were compared between the two groups.Result:The total effective rate of the study group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,BRMS score,CGI-s-BP score,PANSS score,MOAS score,HAMD score,IL-6,IL-1β,MIF,S100β and Hcy in both groups were lower than those before treatment, and 5-HT was higher than that before treatment, and BRMS score,CGI-s-BP score,PANSS score,MOAS score,HAMD score,IL-6,IL-1β,MIF,S100β and Hcy in the study group were lower than those in the control group, and 5-HT was higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in TESS scores between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Patients with BPD receiving Sodium Valproate combined with EEG biofeedback can improve mental symptoms, reduce inflammation, regulate 5-HT,Hcy,S100β,and have high safety.
