Comparison of the Surgical Effects of Traditional Hammer Chisel,High-speed Turbine Handpiece and the Piezosurgery for the Treatment of Jaw Cyst
Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of traditional hammer chisel,high-speed turbine handpiece and piezosurgery in the treatment of jaw cyst.Method:A total of 180 patients with jaw cyst admitted to the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of Hefei Stomatological Hospital from August 2022 to August 2023 were selected as the study objects.The patients were randomly divided into the traditional hammer chisel group,the high-speed turbine handpiece group and the piezosurgery group,with 60 cases in each group.Among them,the traditional hammer chisel group adopts the traditional hammer chisel method,the high-speed turbine handpiece group adopts the high-speed turbine handpiece,and the piezosurgery group adopts the piezosurgery.The time of operation,the amount of blood loss,the degree of pain,the degree of swelling at 24 h,48 h,72 h after surgery and the incidence of complications were observed in the three groups.Result:The operation time of the high-speed turbine handpiece group was shorter than that of the traditional hammer chisel group and the piezosurgery group,and the operation time of the piezosurgery group was shorter than that of the traditional hammer chisel group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The blood loss in the piezosurgery group was less than that in the high-speed turbine handpiece group and the traditional hammer chisel group,and the blood loss in the high-speed turbine handpiece group was less than that in the traditional hammer chisel group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).At 24 h,48 h,72 h after surgery,the pain score and swelling degree score of the piezosurgery group were lower than those of the traditional hammer chisel group and the high-speed turbine handpiece group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the total incidence of complications among the three groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:The application of piezosurgery in the treatment of jaw cyst can effectively reduce the amount of intraoperative blood loss,shorten the operation time,relieve postoperative pain and swelling,but it needs to be further improved in reducing postoperative complications.
