Correlation of Dualistic Coping Level,Self-disclosure and Fear of Recurrence in Young and Middle-aged Breast Cancer Patients and Their Spouses
Objective:To explore the correlation of dualistic coping level,self-disclosure and fear of recurrence in young and middle-aged breast cancer patients and their spouses.Method:A total of 152 middle-aged and young breast cancer patients and their spouses admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Bengbu Medical College from January to October 2022 were selected as the study objects.The coping style,self-disclosure and fear of relapse of all patients and their spouses were evaluated,and the coping style,self-disclosure and fear of relapse scores of all patients and their spouses were compared at different time points.The correlation of coping style,self-disclosure and relapse fear score of patients and their spouses at different time points was analyzed.Result:From T1 to T2,the total score of binary coping,authorized binary coping score,and common binary coping score of patients,and patient and spouse support binary coping score all increased;from T3 to T4,the total score of binary coping,authorized binary coping score,and common binary coping score of patients and patient and spouse support binary coping score all decreased,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total score of self disclosure of breast cancer patients was the highest(45.56±10.86)points at T3,and the total score of spouses'self disclosure was the highest(44.37±10.71)points at T3,all showed an upward and then downward trend over time,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).At T3,the patient and their spouse had the highest total fear of recurrence score,physical health score,and social family score.From T1 to T4,the total fear of recurrence score,physiological health score,and social family score of patients and their spouses first increased and then decreased,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).T1,there was a significant positive correlation between patient self disclosure and the total score of binary coping strategies for patients and their spouses;the self disclosure score of spouses was significantly positively correlated with their binary coping score,and significantly negatively correlated with their fear of recurrence score(P<0.05).T2,there was a significant positive correlation between patient self disclosure and binary coping,as well as spouse self disclosure,and a significant negative correlation with fear of recurrence;there was a significant negative correlation between self disclosure by spouses and fear of recurrence in patients,and a significant positive correlation with their own binary coping strategies;there was a negative correlation between patients'binary coping and fear of recurrence,and a significant positive correlation with spouses'binary coping;there was a significant negative correlation between the dual coping strategies of spouses and their fear of recurrence(P<0.05).T3,there was a negative correlation between patient self disclosure and fear of recurrence,and a significant positive correlation with spouse binary coping and spouse self disclosure;spouse self-expression was positively correlated with binary coping strategies of both spouses,while spouse fear of recurrence was significantly negatively correlated;there was a positive correlation between patients'dual coping and spouses'dual coping,and a significant negative correlation between spouses'fear of recurrence;there was a significant negative correlation between the dual coping strategies of spouses and their fear of recurrence(P<0.05).T4,patient self disclosure was positively correlated with binary coping strategies of both spouses,negatively correlated with fear of recurrence,and significantly positively correlated with spouse self disclosure;spouse self disclosure was positively correlated with binary coping strategies of both spouses,and significantly negatively correlated with spouse fear of recurrence;the binary coping strategies of patients were negatively correlated with their fear of recurrence,and significantly positively correlated with their spouses'binary coping strategies;the dual coping strategies of spouses are negatively correlated with the fear of recurrence in both partners(P<0.05).Conclusion:The dual coping level of breast cancer patients and their spouses is closely related to self disclosure and recurrence fear.It is recommended to provide targeted binary coping intervention plans for patients with different treatment periods in clinical practice,appropriately increasing the level of self-expression of patients and their spouses,reducing their psychological burden,and reducing their fear of disease recurrence,thereby improving their quality of life.
