A Study of the Status of Patients with Vancomycin-resistant Enterococci in Tai'an
Objective:To study the clinical characteristics and drug resistance of vancomycin-resistant enterococci infection patients in Tai'an.Method:Samples of hospitalized patients from January 2019 to December 2022 in Tai'an Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were collected, including bacterial cultures of blood, urine, ascites, etc.,in a total of 335 cases. They were divided into two groups according to the results of drug sensitivity, including 37 cases in vancomycin-resistant enterococcus(VRE)group and 298 cases in vancomycin-sensitive enterococcus(VSE)group.According to the medical records, the clinical data of the patients were extracted, including gender, age, department, etc. The results of bacterial identification and drug sensitivity in the laboratory were collected.Result:Compared with the VSE group,VRE was the most common in urine samples, the most common in feces, and the most common in intensive care. The drug susceptibility results of VRE group and VSE group were compared, and the drug susceptibility results of multiple antibiotics were critically positive(P≥0.1).Conclusion:Vancomycin-resistant enterococcus were mostly isolated from urine samples, and Enterococcus faecium was the most, and common in intensive care medicine. There was no significant difference between VRE group and VSE group in drug resistance and sensitivity to different antibiotics.
