Application Effect of Improved Sheath Delivery Method in PICC Catheterization in Tumor Chemotherapy Patients
Objective:To study the application effect of improved sheath delivery method in peripherally inserted central venous catheter(PICC)catheterization in tumor chemotherapy patients.Method:A total of 200 tumor chemotherapy patients admitted to Jiangmen Central Hospital from June to December 2021 were selected.They were divided into control group and observation group according to random number table method,with 100 cases in each group.In the control group,the traditional skin expansion and sheath delivery method was applied during PICC catheterization,while in the observation group,the improved sheath delivery method was applied during PICC catheterization.The sheath delivery conditions,blood and fluid seepage condition,pain degree at 24 h,48 h and 72 h after catheterization,complications and satisfaction of the two groups were compared.Result:The frequency of sheath delivery in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group,and the success rate of one-time sheath delivery was higher than that in the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).At 24 h,48 h and 72 h after catheterization,the blood seepage rate and fluid seepage rate in the observation group were lower than those of the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The visual analogue scale(VAS)scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group at 24 h,48 h and 72 h after catheter placement,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total satisfaction of the observation group was 93.0%,which was higher than 77.0%of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:In the process of tumor chemotherapy patients receiving PICC catheterization,the application of improved sheath delivery method can improve the one-time success rate,reduce the pain level,reduce the complications to a large extent,have higher safety,and improve satisfaction.
