Efficacy of Mirtazapine and Duloxetine in the Treatment of Geriatric Depression and Its Effect on Sleep Quality in Patients
Objective:To explore the efficacy of mirtazapine plus duloxetine and its effect on sleep quality in elderly patients with depression.Method:100 elderly depression patients admitted to the hospital from January 2021 to January 2023 were selected as the study objects and devided into the control group and the observation group, with 50 cases in each group. The cases of control group were treated with oral duloxetine and the observation group were treated with mirtazapine. All of them were evaluated after 6 weeks of treatment. The depressive symptoms, clinical efficacy, serum indicators, sleep quality, and adverse effects were compared.Result:The total response rate in observation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).Pre-treatment depressive symptoms, serum indicators, and sleep quality were compared between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment, the scores of HAMD of observation group were lower than those of the control group.Compared with the control group, the norepinephrine(NE),serotonin(5-HT)of the observation group were higher in observation group, while the PSQI was lower(P<0.05).And there were no differences in the comparison of adverse reaction of the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Mirtazapine combined with duloxetine in elderly patients with depression can reduce depressive symptoms, regulate serum indicators, promote the improvement of sleep quality, and have high safety, which can be further promoted in clinical practice.
