Effect of Labor Ball with Free Position Assisted Delivery Care on the Course of Labor,Pain Level and Neonatal Health of Primigravid Women
Objective:To investigate the effect of labor ball with free position assisted delivery care on the course of labor,pain level,and neonatal health of primigravid women.Method:100 cases of primigravid women admitted to Suzhou Municipal Hospital from May 2020 to May 2023 were selected as the study subjects and were divided into a control group and a observation group by the method of randomized number table,with 50 cases in each group.Mothers in the control group were given routine midwifery care,and mothers in the observation group were given labor ball with free position midwifery care.The duration of labor,postpartum hemorrhage,pain level[numeric rating scale for pain(NRS)],sense of labor control[labor control scale(LAS)],mode of delivery,coping styles[simple coping styles scale(SCSQ)],and neonatal health[neonatal asphyxia,neonatal infections,and Apgar score]were compared between the two groups.Result:In the observation group,the first,second and third stages of labor were shorter than those of the control group,postpartum hemorrhage was less than that of the control group,the NRS score was lower than that of the control group,and the LAS score was higher than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).At the time of enrollment,the maternal coping style scores of the two groups were compared,and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Before delivery,the maternal positive coping style score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group,and the negative coping score was lower than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The rate of neonatal asphyxia and neonatal infection in the observation group was lower than that in the control group,and the Apgar score was higher than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Birthing ball with free position assisted delivery care can effectively shorten the duration of labor,reduce her pain,decrease postpartum hemorrhage,improve the rate of natural delivery and the sense of birth control,and at the same time help to improve the health of newborns and reduce the rate of neonatal asphyxia and infection.
