Effect of Manual Reduction Small Splint Fixation on Elderly Patients with Distal Radius Fractures
Objective:To investigate the effect of manual reduction small splint fixation on elderly patients with distal radius fractures.Method:A total of 109 elderly patients with distal radius fracture admitted to Datian General Hospital from January 2020 to June 2023 were selected. They were divided into control group(54 cases)and study group(55 cases)according to random number table method. The control group was given plaster external fixation, and the study group was given manual reduction and small splint fixation. The effects of fracture recovery, clinical indexes, quality of life and wrist joint function before and 6 months after treatment were compared between the two groups.Result:The excellent and good rate of the study group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The time of fracture line disappearance in the study group were earlier than those in the control group, and the radius shortening length was shorter than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).At 6 months after treatment, the scores of function, grip strength, pain and motion in the study group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).At 6 months after treatment, the physiological, physical, emotional and social scores of the study group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The treatment of distal radius fracture in elderly patients with manual reduction and small splint fixation is effective, which is helpful to the recovery of wrist joint function, promote fracture healing and improve the quality of life.
