Study on the Application of Wentong Guasha in Neurosurgical Patients with Urinary Retention
Objective:To explore the clinical efficacy of Wentong Guasha in patients with urinary retention in neurosurgery.Method:Sixty patients who were hospitalized in the neurosurgery Department of Foshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from February 2023 to December 2023 were selected as the study objects,and were divided into a control group and a study group by random number table method,with 30 cases in each group.The urinary catheter was removed in the study group on the basis of Wentong Guasha treatment after catheter catheterization,and the catheter was removed directly after catheter catheterization in the control group.The indentation time of urinary catheter in both groups was less than 14 days.After treatment,the clinical efficacy and urination(the first urination time after extubation,the number of urinations and average urine volume in 12 hours after extubation)of the two groups,the scores of TCM syndromes and urination symptom scale(USS)before and after treatment,the recurrence of urinary retention after treatment(the incidence of urinary pond within three days and the rate of catheter replacement).The quality of life(SS-QOL)scores of two groups of patients were compared before and after treatment.Result:After treatment,the clinical efficacy of the study group patients was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).The first urination time of the study group patients was earlier than that of the control group,and the frequency and volume of urination within 12 hours after extubation were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).The traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score and USS score of both groups of patients significantly decreased,and they were lower than those of control group at the same time(P<0.05).The incidence of urinary retention and the rate of catheter replacement in the study group within 3 days were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The SS-QOL scores of the two groups of patients showed a significant increase compared with those before treatment,and the study group was significantly higher than the control group at the same time(P<0.05).Conclusion:Wentong Guasha has a good effect on patients with urinary retention in neurosurgery,which is helpful to improve their urination,avoid recurrence of urinary retention,alleviate clinical symptoms and improve their quality of life.
