Application Effect of Health Belief Model Combined with Otago Exercise Plan in the Prevention Falls in Elderly Patients with Diabetes Induced Osteoporosis
Objective:To explore the application effect of health belief model combined with Otago exercise plan in the prevention falls in elderly patients with diabetes induced osteoporosis.Method:A total of 88 elderly patients with diabetes induced osteoporosis who admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University from January 2022 to December 2023 were selected as the research objects, the patients were divided into the control group(routine nursing)and observation group(health belief model combined with Otago exercise plan)according to the random number table method,44 cases in each group. The knowledge and practice of fall prevention level, fall efficacy, balance ability and daily living ability of two groups were compared.Result:After intervention, the anti-fall knowledge scores,anti-fall belief scores,anti-fall behavior scores and total scores in two groups were higher than those before intervention, and those in the observation group were higher than the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);after intervention, the outdoor activity score, indoor activity score and total score of two groups were higher than those before intervention, and those of the observation group were higher than the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);after intervention, the scores balance ability scores and daily living ability scores in two groups were higher than those before intervention, and those in the observation group were higher than the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Health belief model combined with Otago exercise plan in the prevention falls in elderly patients with diabetes induced osteoporosis can improve the knowledge, belief and practice of fall prevention, improve fall efficacy, and improve balance ability and daily living ability.
