Effect of Acupuncture Combined with Xiaoxuming Decotion in the Treatment of Patients with Acute Peripheral Facial Paralysis
Objective:To investigate the effect of acupuncture combined with Xiaoxuming Decotion in the treatment of patients with acute peripheral facial paralysis.Method:A total of 80 patients with acute peripheral facial paralysis treated in Beijing First Hospital of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine from January 2020 to May 2023 were selected as the study objects.According to the method of random number table, they were divided into reference group and research group,40 cases in each group. The reference group was given acupuncture treatment, and the study group was given acupuncture combined with Xiaoxuming Decoction. The clinical efficacy, facial nerve function, facial disability and quality of life before and after treatment were compared between the two groups.Result:The total effective rate of the study group was higher than that of the reference group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the May scores of the two groups increased, and the May score of the study group was higher than that of the reference group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the social function score(FDIS)and physical function score(FDIP)of the two groups were increased, and the FDIS and FDIP scores of the study group were higher than those of the reference group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the scores of facial sensation, eye sensation, oral function, tear secretion, facial movement and social function scores were all increased in both groups, and the scores of facial sensation, eye sensation, oral function, tear secretion, facial movement and social function in the study group were higher than those in the reference group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Acupuncture combined with Xiaoxuming Decotion can significantly improve clinical effectiveness, promote better recovery of facial nerve function, and contribute to greater improvement of quality of life of patients with acute peripheral facial paralysis.
