Effect of Two Different Characters of Ice Pack Cold Therapy on Patients Undergoing Microwave Ablation Surgery of Thyroid
Objective:To evaluate the effect of two different characters of ice pack cold therapy on patients undergoing microwave ablation surgery of thyroid.Method:A total of 102 patients with microwave thyroid ablation surgery treated in Jiangyuan Hospital Affiliated to Jiangsu Institute of Nuclear Medicine from January to November 2023 were selected.They were divided into control group(n=51,odd)and observation group(n=51,even)according to touch ball method.The control group was given ice block ice pack cold treatment,and the observation group was given ice-water mixture ice pack cold treatment.The time indexes,pain degree at 2 h,6 h and 24 h after surgery,swelling degree at 2 h,6 h and 24 h after surgery and complications of the two groups were compared.Result:The time for pain and swelling to disappear in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The numeric rating scale(NRS)scores of observation group at 2 h,6 h and 24 h after surgery were lower than those of control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The swelling degree of observation group at 2 h,6 h and 24 h after surgery were lower than those of control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Cold therapy with ice-water mixture as icing medium can effectively reduce the pain and swelling degree of patients after microwave thyroid ablation surgery,and reduce complications.
