Correlation between the Expression of VEGF-C,HIF-1 α and Angiogenesis in Breast Cancer Tissues
Objective:To investigate the relationship between the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor-C(VEGF-C),hypoxia inducible factor-1α(HIF-1α)and angiogenesis in breast cancer tissues.Method:A total of 198 female patients with breast cancer admitted to Tai'an Central Hospital from January 2022 to December 2023 were selected, and 50 patients with breast fibroma diagnosed pathologically in the same period were selected as controls.Immunohistochemical S-P method was used to detect the expression of VEGF-C,HIF-1α and microvessel density(MVD)in breast cancer and breast fibroma. The relationship between the expression of VEGF-C,HIF-1α and clinicopathological features and MVD were analyzed.Result:The positive expression rate of VEGF-C and HIF-1 α and the number of MVD in breast tissue of breast cancer patients were higher than those of breast fibroma patients, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in clinical pathological characteristics such as age, tumor diameter, histological grading,ER expression,PR expression between VEGF-C positive and negative expression patients(P>0.05);the proportion of patients with lymph node metastasis,TNM stage Ⅲ-Ⅳ,molecular typing(Luminal B,HER-2 positive, basal cell),and MVD were higher in patients with positive expression of VEGF-C than in those with negative expression of VEGF-C,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in clinical pathological characteristics such as age, tumor diameter,ER expression,PR expression, and molecular typing between HIF-1 α positive and negative expression patients(P>0.05);the proportion of patients with histological grading of grade Ⅱ-Ⅲ,lymph node metastasis, and TNM stage Ⅲ-Ⅳ,as well as the number of MVD in HIF-1 α positive expression patients were higher than in HIF-1 α negative expression patients, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The positive expression rates of VEGF-C and HIF-1 α in breast cancer tissues were significantly increased, and there was also a significant correlation with tumor angiogenesis.
