Clinical Effect of Modified Shenling Baizhu Powder Combined with Ear-point Pressure Beans on Children with Adenoid Hypertrophy
Objective:To study the clinical effect of modified Shenling Baizhu Powder combined with ear-point pressure beans on children with adenoid hypertrophy.Method:A total of 80 children with adenoid hypertrophy treated in Nanhai District Maternal and Child Health Hospital of Foshan City from August 2022 to August 2023 were selected.The patients were divided into observation group and control group,with 40 cases in each group.The control group was treated with western medicine,and the observation group was treated with modified Shenling Baizhu Powder combined with ear-point pressure beans.Traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score,nasal obstruction symptom scale (NOSE) score,adenoidal nasopharyngeal (A/N) value,quality of life before and after treatment,clinical efficacy and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Result:After treatment,scores of nasal congestion,open mouth breathing,snoring during sleep and yellow sticky nose and total score in observation group were lower than those before treatment,and scores of nasal congestion,open mouth breathing,snoring during sleep and yellow sticky nose and total score were lower than those in control group,the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).After treatment,NOSE score and A/N values in the observation group were decreased,and NOSE score and A/N values in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).After treatment,the emotional symptoms,sleep disorders,physical conditions,guardian concerns and daytime function scores and total score of the observation group were all decreased,and the emotional symptoms,sleep disorders,physical conditions,guardian concerns and daytime function scores and total score were all lower than those of the control group,the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (x2=0.213,P=0.644).Conclusion:Modified Shenling Baizhu Powder combined with ear-point pressure bean in the treatment of children with adenoid hypertrophy has a significant effect,which can significantly improve the clinical symptoms and nasal obstruction degree of children,and improve the quality of life,which is superior to western medicine treatment alone,safe and reliable.
