Correlation between EBV-DNA and Heterogeneous Lymphocytes in Children with Infectious Mononucleosis
Objective:To analyze the correlation between EBV-DNA and heterogeneous lymphocytes in children with infectious mononucleosis (IM).Method:Forty-eight children with IM admitted to Renhuai City People's Hospital from April 2022 to April 2023 were included in the IM group, and 48 children with negative EBV fever were included in the control group during the same period.EBV-DNA and lymphocyte detection were performed in both groups, relevant indicators of the two groups were compared. The relevant indexes of IM children with different viral load were compared. The correlation between EBV-DNA load and the proportion of heterogeneous lymphocytes in children with IM was analyzed.Result:The positive rate of EBV-DNA load, allotypic lymphocyte proportion, lymphocyte proportion and lymphocyte count in IM group were higher than those in control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).There was no statistical significance in lymphocyte count and lymphocyte proportion between the children with high viral dose and the children with low viral dose (P>0.05).The proportion of heterogeneous lymphocytes and EBV-DNA load in the high viral dose group were higher than those in the low viral dose IM children, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05).The results of Pearson correlation analysis showed that EBV-DNA load was positively correlated with the proportion of heterogeneous lymphocytes in IM children (r=0.790,P<0.05).Conclusion:EBV-DNA and lymphocyte test results were abnormal in children with IM,and EBV-DNA load was positively correlated with the lymphocyte ratio.
