Analysis of Use of Physical Restraint and Related Influencing Factors of Patients in Neurological Intensive Care Unit
Objective:To analyze the use of physical restraint and related influencing factors of patients in Neurological Intensive Care Unit (ICU).Method:A convenient sampling method was used to select 200 critically ill patients who treated in the Department of Neurological ICU of Affiliated Zhongda Hospital of Southeast University from May 2022 to August 2023 as the study subjects.Questionnaires were used to collect general information, behavioral characteristics and treatment characteristics of patients, logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of physical restraint use of patients in Neurological ICU.Result:Among 200 patients in Neurological ICU,135 patients used physical restraint, with a utilization rate of 67.50%.There were statistically significant differences in the consciousness state, delirium, fall risk, stress injury risk and indwelling pipeline type among patients in Neurological ICU with different physical restraint use (P<0.05).The results of logistic regression analysis showed that disturbance of consciousness, delirium, high risk of falls,extreme/high risk of pressure injury and indwelling high-risk pipelines were risk factors for the use of physical restraints in patients in Neurological ICU (P<0.05).Conclusion:The utilization rate of physical restraint in patients in Neurological ICU is high, which is related to disturbance of consciousness, delirium, high risk of falls,extreme/high risk of pressure injury and indwelling high-risk pipelines.
