Effect of Low-temperature Plasma Tonsillectomy in the Treatment of Patients with Chronic Tonsillitis
Objective:To observe the effect of low-temperature plasma tonsillectomy in the treatment of patients with chronic tonsillitis.Method:A total of 85 patients with chronic tonsillitis who admitted to Putian 95 Hospital from January to December 2022 were selected as the research objects, the patients were divided into the low-temperature plasma group(n=43,low-temperature plasma tonsillectomy)and the conventional group(n=42,conventional tonsillectomy)according to the surgical methods. The perioperative indexes, wound albuginea formation, visual analogue scale(VAS)score and complications were compared between two groups.Result:The time to return to normal diet, operation time, albuginea formation time, initial shedding time and complete shedding time in the low-temperature plasma group were shorter than those in the conventional group, the intraoperative blood loss was less than that in the conventional group, and the postoperative wound tunica albuginea formation was better than that in the conventional group, the VAS scores at 1 d,3 d and 7 d after operation were lower than those in the conventional group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);the incidence of postoperative complications in the low-temperature plasma group was 6.98%,compared with 16.67%in the conventional group, the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion:Low-temperature plasma tonsillectomy can shorten the operation time of patients with chronic tonsillitis, reduce intraoperative blood loss and shorten postoperative pain time, and promote the postoperative wound albuginea formation.
