Research Progress on the Treatment of Chronic Kidney Disease Complicated with Sarcopenia
Chronic kidney disease(CKD)as a chronic progressive disease can induce sarcopenia through various pathways such as inflammation, metabolic acidosis, insulin resistance, oxidative stress, hormonal changes and protein-energy malnutrition, leading to poor clinical outcomes. It has become a major public health issue, drawing widespread attention.Currently, there is no comprehensive treatment strategy for these patients. However, multiple studies have shown that exercise, nutritional interventions, hormonal therapies,AST-120 and targeting treatment in the myostatin(MSTN)signaling pathway may improve the nutritional status of patients, increase muscle mass and strength, and delay disease progression. This article reviews the research progress in the treatment of CKD complicated with sarcopenia.
