Investigation of vascular plants in typical sections of Nanjing Ming Dynasty City Wall
The species of vascular plants in the typical sections(Taipingmen-Jiefangmen section and Zhongshanmen-Fuguishan section)of Nanjing Ming Dynasty City Wall were investigated.The results show that a total of 113 species(including varieties,the same below)of vascular plants belonging to 100 genera of 52 families are recorded,in which,Asteraceae has the largest number of species(14 species).The species numbers of herbs,vines,and woody plants account for 43.4%,17.7%,and 38.9%of the total species number,respectively.Arthraxon prionodes(Steud.)Dandy and Ficus pumila Linn.are the dominant species of herbs and vines respectively;the importance values of Broussonetia papyrifera(Linn.)L'Hér.ex Vent.and Vitex negundo var.cannabifolia(Siebold et Zucc.)Hand.-Mazz.are relatively high among the woody plants.In addition,a total of 8 species of alien invasive plants are recorded,belonging to 7 genera of 6 families.Taken together,the plant species in Taipingmen-Jiefangmen section and Zhongshanmen-Fuguishan section of Nanjing Ming Dynasty City Wall are relatively abundant,and it is necessary to clean up the relevant plants in time for protecting the city wall.
