Effects of Applying Diquat-Dibromide on Potato Quality under Different Watering Treatments
In order to investigate the effect of applying Diquat-dibromide on potato quality under normal watering and drought stress, three potato varieties with different drought resistances were selected and pot water control method was used for drought stress.Drought stress treatment was applied 50 d after planting, and Diquat-dibromide was applied 10 d before harvest.Tuber yield, nutrient quality, skin thickness and tuber hardness were measured at 0,30 and 60 d after storage at 25 ℃.The results showed that the yield of Longshu 6 was significantly increased after Diquat-dibromide treatment under normal watering, while the yield of other varieties did not change significantly. However, applying Diquat-dibromide significantly increased the tuber hardness and skin thickness of different potato varieties, which could play an important role in reducing the physical damage of tubers caused by mechanical harvest, transportation and storage of potatoes.Principal component analysis and membership function method were used for comprehensive evaluation of the measured indexes, three principal components played the main role, with a cumulative contribution rate of 85.544%.The contribution of tuber hardness, protein and calcium was the largest.Drought-tolerant intermediate type Longshu 6 had the highest comprehensive evaluation,while-drought sensitive variety Atlantic was the lowest, indicating that applying Diquat-dibromide had the greatest impact on the quality of Longshu 6.
