Numerical simulation of quenching heat treatment for aluminum alloy ring
This article introduces the mechanism of residual stress generation in aluminum alloy rings under the action of thermal stress field,and establishes a finite element numerical model of 2219 aluminum alloy rings using the professional simulation software Abaqus,The distribution of temperature field and residual stress in the quenching process of 2219 aluminum alloy ring is analyzed.The results of finite element simulation show that:the maximum temperature drop rate occurs at the intersection of the outer surface edges of the ring,the temperature drop rate of the core is the smallest,and the temperature drop rate of the ring surface is between the edge intersection line and the core.The stress on the inner and outer surfaces and core of the ring increases sharply during the quenching process and then decreases,and increases again and tends to stabilize after decreases reaching the inflection point.At the same time,the stress on the core and inner and outer surfaces of the ring is basically the same,both of which are greater than that of the upper and lower surfaces of the ring.
