Flow behavior of material during through-feed rolling process of long inner spline
The through-feed rolling process is a plastic forming process with local loading and axial-incremental deformation, and it provides a high-performance and force-saving manufacturing way for long inner spline. The flow behavior of material during through-feed rolling process with three rolling dies for inner spline of splined hub of drive shaft was analyzed by numerical method. The results indicated that the material flow and deformation mainly occur in inner surface layer of billet, and there is no material flow in outer surface;flow speed of material reduce along axial direction during through-feed rolling process of inner spline, but the distributions of accumulated material displacement in different deformation zone are basically the same and only the magnitudes of displacement show some differences;the distribution and evolution of the material flow and displacement under different structures of entry-angle section of rolling die are basically the same, and the axial flow of material during rolling process by using oblique cutting rolling dies are larger than that by using radial shrinkage rolling dies.
