Babao Dan protect liver function for hepatectomy:a randomized trail
Objective:To investigate the protective effect of Babao Dan on liver function after resection. Methods:Forty patients after hepatectomy were randomly divided into the Babaodan group and the control group and were given oral Babaodan capsules and blank control observation from the first postoperative day, respectively. Results:Total bilirubin(day seven and peak),direct bilirubin(day seven and peak),ghrelin(day seven),ghrelin(day seven),body temperature(day seven),white blood cells(day seven),neutrophil percentage(day seven),albumin(day seven and trough),the incidence of moderate to massive pleural fluid, postoperative hospitalization days and total hospitalization cost were significantly lower in the octopod group compared with the control group were significantly lower(P<0.05).The incidence of moderate and large amounts of ascites, prothrombin time, prothrombin activity, and whether the ECOG score returned to 0-1 on postoperative day seven were not significantly different between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Babaodan can promote the recovery of hepatic detoxification and metabolic function after hepatectomy and reduce the postoperative damage of hepatocytes. Its mechanism of action may be related to the inhibition of acute inflammatory response in the liver after hepatectomy, while it may have no direct effect on hepatic synthetic function and coagulation system function.
