Impact of combining tenofovir disoproxil fumarate with compound Zhizigen granule on the level of inflammatory cytokines in chronic hepatitis B patients
Objective:To monitor the effects of Zhizigen granules in combination with tenofovir disoproxil fumarate(TDF)on inflammatory cytokines and clinical outcomes treating chronic hepatitis B.Methods:The initial therapy involved 80 individuals with chronic hepatitis B in total. The clinical randomized controlled technique used in this investigation reduces separation and exclusions.Finally,75 patients were analyzed,of whom 35 patients were in the therapy group and 40 patients were in the control group.TDF was administered to the control group, and compound Zhizigen granules were added to the treatment group based on the control group. The differences in liver function(ALT,AST,GGT)between the two groups were compared at the 4th and 24th weeks of therapy. At the 24th week of treatment, the differences in virology markers(HBV DNA,HBsAg,HBeAg),cytokines(IL-6,IL-10,IL-17,IL-23),and clinical effectiveness were compared between the two groups. Results:After receiving therapy for 24 weeks, both groups'liver function, virology index, and cytokine levels were much lower than previously(P<0.05).The analysis of the data across the groups revealed that after four weeks of therapy, the transaminase level in the treatment group was lower and that the difference was statistically significant(Z =-2.90,P =0.004;Z =-3.26,P =0.001;Z =-2.24,P =0.025).The levels of IL-6 and IL-23 in the treatment group fell below those in the control group after 24 weeks of therapy, and this difference was statistically significant(Z =-2.14,P = 0.033;Z =-2.10,P = 0.036).The treatment group′s total effective rate was 97.14%(34/35),higher than the control group′s real effective rate of 95.00%(38/40)(χ2 = 9.49,P = 0.019).Additionally,the treatment group experienced fewer adverse reactions than the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(χ2 =6.19,P = 0.044).Conclusion:In the early stages of treatment, compound Zhizigen granules mixed with TDF can quickly lower transaminase and proinflammatory cytokines levels, increase clinical overall effectiveness more than TDF alone, and decrease clinical side effects.
