Objective:This study aims to construct an ontology knowledge base for Chronic Hepatitis B(CHB)within an integrated system of Traditional Chinese and Western medicine. It seeks to form a systematic and structured knowledge framework to facilitate the sharing and interaction of knowledge, thereby offering more comprehensive and holistic treatment strategies for the integrated approach to CHB therapy. Methods:Following the seven-step ontology method developed by Stanford School of Medicine, the network ontology language OWL was employed as the descriptive framework, while the Protege 5.6.0 ontology editing tool facilitated the construction of an integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment for CHB.The HermiT reasoner was then utilized to ensure consistency within the ontology. Results:The ontology includes 44 classes,509 instances,12 object properties, along with 128 datatype properties. This construction effectively achieves the semantic representation of knowledge in the field of CHB treatment from both TCM and western medicine perspectives. Conclusion:The construction of the integrated ontology for CHB treatment facilitates knowledge reasoning and sharing between TCM and western medicine. It supports the development of knowledge maps and research on intelligent applications in the field of CHB treatment, enhancing the synergy between these two medical systems.
