Effect of I-Ching navel acupuncture on liver function and quality of life in patients with cirrhotic ascites due to Blood Stasis and Fluid Retention based on the theory of spleen controlling blood
Objective:Discuss the impact of I-Ching navel acupuncture on liver function and quality of life in patients with blood stasis and water retention type cirrhotic ascites,based on the theory of"spleen controlling blood".Methods:According to the random number table method,66 patients with cirrhosis of the liver with blood stasis and water stagnation were equally divided into treatment group and control group.Both groups were treated with basic therapy,in which the treatment group was treated with I-Ching navel acupuncture once a day for 10 d per course,for two courses.The changes of liver function,four items of coagulation,TCM evidence score,ultrasound ascites score,abdominal circumference,weight and quality of life score of the patients in the two groups were observed before and after treatment.Results:The improvement of ALT,TBil,Alb,PT,APTT,FIB,TCM evidence score,ultrasound ascites score,abdominal circumference,weight and quality of life scores in the treatment group were better than those in the control group(P<0.05).There was no statistically difference in the improvement of AST and TT between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:The combination of basic treatment with I-Ching navel acupuncture could improve liver function,reduce abdominal water volume,shrink abdominal circumference,reduce abdominal distension and other uncomfortable symptoms,and improve the quality of life of patients with cirrhotic ascites with blood stasis and water stagnation.
