As one of the four major stubborn diseases, stroke has attracted the attention of medical practitioners throughout history since it was first proposed in"the Neijing".The treatment of stroke based on the principle of tonifying Qi and promoting blood circulation has always been believed to have been first proposed by the Qing Dynasty physician Wang Qingren. However, recent research has found that the method of tonifying Qi and promoting blood circulation originated from"the Neijing"and has not been widely used in the treatment of stroke.During the Sui and Tang dynasties, some medical experts proposed to treat stroke based on the theory of Qi and blood. In the Ming and Qing dynasties, the Xin'an medical experts further believed that Qi deficiency and blood stasis were the causes of stroke, and chose to treat stroke with tonifying Qi and promoting blood circulation drugs, which was earlier than that of the Qing dynasty medical expert Wang Qingren. The method of tonifying Qi and promoting blood circulation continue to develop and is widely used in contemporary stroke treatment.
