Objective:To analyze the correlation between traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)constitution type and metabolic risk factors in patients at high risk of cardiovascular disease. Methods:A total of 202 patients at high risk of cardiovascular disease were selected as the study subjects from the Affiliated Hospital of Shanxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine between November 2021 to March 2022.The questionnaire was used to assess the TCM constitution types of the samples. The relationship between TCM constitution types and metabolic risk factors was analyzed. Results:The predominant TCM constitution types among the 202 from patients were phlegm dampness,Qi deficiency, and Qi depression. The abdominal circumference and homocysteine(Hcy)levels in patients with phlegm and dampness were significantly higher than that in those with other constitutional types. The levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)and total cholesterol(TC)were higher in patients with than that Qi depression than that in other patients. Conclusion:The predominant TCM constitution types were phlegm dampness,Qi deficiency, and Qi depression in high-risk patients with cardiovascular diseases.
