Clinical Effect of Pharyngeal Strength Combined with Tongue Muscle Training for the Treatment of Dysphagia after Stroke
Objective:To observe the clinical effect of pharyngeal strength combined with tongue muscle training for the treatment of dysphagia after stroke. Methods:One hundred and six stroke patients with dysphagia treated in Beijing Rehabilitation Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University from January 2021 to June 2022 were selected and divided into the control group and the observation group by random number table method, with 53 cases in each group. The patients of control group were treated with conventional treatment and training, and the patients of observation group were treated with pharyngeal strength and tongue muscle training on the basis of the control group. The clinical efficacy, nutritional status, oral feeding function, swallowing function and Swallowing Quality of Life(SWAL-QOL)scores between two groups were compared. Results:The total effective rate of the observation group was more than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(90.57%vs 77.36%,P<0.05).After 1 month of training, the scores of albumin, hemoglobin,Functional Oral Intake Scale(FOIS)scores and SWAL-QOL scores between two groups were more than those before training, and the scores of Standardized Swallowing Assessment(SSA)were less than those before training, and those in the observation group were better than those in the control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion:Pharyngeal strength combined with tongue muscle training for the treatment of swallowing disorder after stroke showed better clinical effects, which could improve the oral feeding function, swallowing function and quality of life.
